Located in the 5th arrondissement of Paris, the Jardin des Plantes is a botanical park founded in 1633, under the patronage of Louis XIII. Home to the National Museum of Natural History, the garden also houses a zoo, greenhouses of tropical rainforests, and buildings for scientific exhibitions. The Jardin des Plantes is immediately adjacent to the Grand Mosque of Paris, with a traditional restaurant from the Maghreb countries, a tea room, and a hammam. The Gare d'Austerlitz is nearby, as is the RER C, which crosses Paris and takes you right to Versailles.
